data-contextual-spacing=\"true\"><span id=\"E348\" class=\"qowt-font7-Calibri\">The CRTC has released a new regulatory policy for Canada VRS, outlining updated requirements and expectations for CAV.<\/span><span id=\"E349\" class=\"qowt-font7-Calibri\"> <\/span><span id=\"E350\" class=\"qowt-font7-Calibri\">The CRTC has updated its VRS policy to ensure the service is more inclusive and diverse and to enhance its usability. <\/span><\/p><p id=\"E352\" class=\"qowt-stl-NormalWeb x-scope qowt-word-para-3\" data-contextual-spacing=\"true\"><span id=\"E353\" class=\"qowt-font7-Calibri\">Some of these requirements include conducting a feasibility study to better understand the needs of people who are DeafBlind, ensuring 24\/7 access to 9-8-8, and publishing an annual progress report in English, French, ASL, and LSQ. We are pleased to share that CAV is already meeting or exceeding these standards.<\/span><\/p><p id=\"E356\" class=\"qowt-stl-NormalWeb x-scope qowt-word-para-3\" data-contextual-spacing=\"true\"><span id=\"E357\" class=\"qowt-font7-Calibri\">New initiatives include updating service quality standards, <\/span><span id=\"E358\" class=\"qowt-font7-Calibri\">enhancing call<\/span><span id=\"E359\" class=\"qowt-font7-Calibri\"> notifications for <\/span><span id=\"E360\" class=\"qowt-font7-Calibri\">registered VRS<\/span><span id=\"E361\" class=\"qowt-font7-Calibri\"> customers, and consulting with Indigenous <\/span><span id=\"E362\" class=\"qowt-font7-Calibri\">Deaf <\/span><span id=\"E363\" class=\"qowt-font7-Calibri\">people<\/span><span id=\"E364\" class=\"qowt-font7-Calibri\"> who sign <\/span><span id=\"E365\" class=\"qowt-font7-Calibri\">ASL and LSQ. We are committed to implementing these improvements and enhancing the VRS experience for all users.<\/span><\/p><p id=\"E367\" class=\"qowt-stl-NormalWeb x-scope qowt-word-para-3\" data-contextual-spacing=\"true\"><span id=\"E368\" class=\"qowt-font7-Calibri\">This new regulatory policy is the result of open and transparent collaboration among VRS users, the telecommunications industry, <\/span><span id=\"E369\" class=\"qowt-font7-Calibri\">and<\/span><span id=\"E370\" class=\"qowt-font7-Calibri\"> CAV. We greatly appreciate the valuable input that helped shape these changes.<\/span><\/p><p id=\"E373\" class=\"qowt-stl-NormalWeb x-scope qowt-word-para-3\" data-contextual-spacing=\"true\"><span id=\"E374\" class=\"qowt-font7-Calibri\">Beyond regulatory requirements, CAV will also be launching its first organization-wide strategic planning process. This initiative will ensure that the policy\u2019s focus and priorities are central to our long-term planning, which will be approved by our Board of Directors. Several stakeholder <\/span><span id=\"E375\" class=\"qowt-font7-Calibri\">groups, including CAV staff and providers, will be invited to participate.
