Use First Person Language
The role of a VI is to facilitate and interpret between you and the VRS User in both signed and spoken languages. When speaking with VRS Users through the VI, please use first-person language. If you have questions, you may address the VRS user directly.
Give Extra Time
Interpreters facilitate conversations through both spoken and signed languages and additional time to translate is often required. Your patience is very much appreciated. The slight pauses and delays will ensure messages are relayed clearly and accurately.
