What is a firewall and how can it affect Canada VRS?
A firewall is a network security system designed to prevent unauthorized access to or from a private network. At workplaces, public places or businesses, firewalls are common and can block Canada VRS from receiving or placing a call.
If you cannot make a call at a public place and you think a firewall may be blocking access, please contact the location’s IT specialist. If necessary, the IT person can contact Canada VRS Customer Service for further assistance.
Examples of places that may have a firewall are:
- Government buildings
- Educational buildings
- Financial buildings
- Workplaces
- Restaurants
